Leupold & Nightforce....

I did a search, but was wondering about real world experiences if possible since I will be ordering by mail. The VX-3L 4.5-14x56 or SHV 4-14x56?? Both are close in price, Leupold rules my safe plus the lower profile mounting but the Nightforce looks intriguing also..... It would be for longer range muley and elk hunting, so sturdy and cheek weld are major considerations. Thanks

Both scopes are in the 2 lb range. If you plan on carrying either up a mountain you may reconsider. The NF glass should be better than vx3 from what I've seen, although I have only had NXS, there are limited real world reviews in the SHV.

That said, my 5-20x50 has been replaced with a vx-6 3-18x44. It is about 10 ounces lighter, good glass, firedot is fantastic. The reticle is a little thick for target shooting, but great for hunting. The 2-12 is even lighter and a few hundy less than the vxl. The 3-18 is a couple hundred more...
