I have a Tasco Mag 3-9X32mm on my Brno #5. It's "ok" but a little fuzzy for my liking and now I need a scope for my Brno #1 and Brno #2, and I'm thinking of trying better quality optics. I'm debating the Leupold VX-I 2-7x28 Rimfire or Weaver 2.5-7x28. The Leupold is probably about $100 more then the Weaver. Does anyone own both scopes? Is the extra $ for the Leupold worth it? Thanks. :)

I don't own both, but I do own a 4X Weaver Classic Rimfire scope and like it very much. It's clear and bright and the smaller dimensions look good when it's mounted on my 10/22.

I have the Weaver 2.5-7. It has seen alot of use and is pretty good but compared to a Leupold it still isn't as crisp an image as I would have liked.
Go Leupold and never look back! With the warranty they have you just cannot go wrong. IMO

Well ok, thanks. :)

I couldn't resist the temptation any longer and took the plunge and just ordered a Leupold VX-I 2-7X 28MM Rimfire for $234.78 CND off of ebay, presumably with free shipping to Canada. However I'm sure there'll be a few additional taxes and handling fees. I'll have to decide later whether to give Weaver a try too, or just get another Leupold.

K98 I've been having the exact same debate myself and I was already leaning toward the Leupold. When you get to try out your new scope can you update the thread with your review of it? It would be good to hear what you think. It sound like just the thing for a quality rimfire like your Brno. As for me I'd be putting mine on a Remington 541-T

Consider the Mueller APV 4.5-14X40mm
Price here in Canuck land is aprrox $208.00 +shipping
Source : Whitefalls.com http://www.whitefalls.ca/
Contact: Phil
Responce time Customer service: Superb
Scope quality : Good
Scope clairity: Very Good/Compared to my VX-III Leupold it can hold its own.
It is bright but not as bright as my 50mm objective (it stands to reason because its a 40mm ) clairity is close enough .
Clear enough to shot MOG (Minute of Gopher)
Scope weight: It weighs more than a Leupold Look up the diff if you wish.
Warranty : Leupold = lifetime, Mueller = lifetime

Just my opinion ...but if you buy a scope and you can see what you are shooting and it holds zero ... great, perfect most scopes do this .
Alot of people will be satisfied with these scopes and for a lot of shooting applications most people will not tell the difference.

Where big money scopes start to show their worth is low light ,longjevity, long distance and quality meaning smooth zoom and precision windage and elevation settings. If you require this well then by all means get one and spend extra.
If ya shake and shoot like #### like me It just don't matter what you are lookin' through. its all the same.

Cheers
