Wondering if it's a good idea to put Leupold Quick Release rings(the ones with the tightening lever that fits onto weaver rail) onto a 300 mag semi rifle? Will they come loose while shooting. Anyone had experience with bigger bore and these rings?
Thanks

I use them on my 12 ga slug gun and have never had a problem. Remove and return to zero just fine and never loosen.

I use QRW Rings on a 284 Win. Target Rifle, I can shoot 50 shots in a day and they never get loose, I remove the scope and it's return zero everytime.
Lapping the rings may help to get a perfect fit, .

I had some on my T/C Encore .300WinMag and the cam in the rear QR loosened right up. The lever would push down much farther than it should and never stayed tight. It wasn't caused by over (be carefull) tightening, just from the recoil of the gun. Perhaps it was faulty or maybe the monster 4X16 - 50mm scope had something to do with it? I'd never buy them again, to fragile. Any reason for needing a QR scope? I'd planned on swapping the scope with different barrels.....wasn't worth the trouble.

The QR setup makes for more room in the safe to store the rifle when the scope isn’t mounted. I also like to remove the scope when cleaning the rifle. This set up works for me but I wouldn’t do it again.

I have a set on a 22 mag. They have always returned to zero for me. I like them but because I don't really need the quick detach feature I would go with the Leupold PRW rings if I was doing it again.

Thanks very much for your input guys! Starting to favor the Leupold QR mounts.
Just a post on the scope with small half moon slot that locks into the mount via lever.Pretty slick!

They work fine. We carry the Leupold QRWs, Burris Zee Signatures (with bushings - as well as the offset kits). Never had a problem with the QRW failing or loosening up. Of course if you can't apply enough force on the lever with your fingers you could have a problem, but most people don't see to have problems with it. ARMS makes a long lever QRW ring but they are more $$$$$

TPS doesn't make any quick release systems yet, but they are an excellent value for what you get!

If your looking for 1" rings, these could be yours for $20. The base is no good to you unless your gun is a T/C, but even then the rear lever is messed up. The rings are in great shape, they weren't used for long.

PM me your details if interested.
