Leupold Rings

So I've just picked up a Tikka T3 Lite, and I'm going to be getting a scope mounted soon.

Can anyone suggest what base and rings to get ( T3s are drilled for Weaver bases)? I'd be shooting at a range, 200 yards or less, or hunting in Ontario/Quebec for whitetail deer. The scope is a Leupold VX-1.

Shotguns are pretty much my bread and butter so I'm pretty unfamiliar with mounting scopes, so any advice is appreciated, thanks!

I put Talley one piece rings on my 338wm. It came with the ones that clamp onto the dovetail, the recoil broke them where the ring mets the base, gouged the scope good as well.

Yikes. So far I've only considered Leupold rings (just because I've got the Leupold scope), and Millett rings because that's what the salesman suggested.
