I have a set of Leupold ringmounts for a Sako 85, package does not state torque for the base or ring screws.

Any idea what the torque specs are?

upon closer look, that's not the ring I have. The ones I have have single screws on the rings, the ones in your pic are double..

My package doesn't say backcountry.. it says "ringmouts Ruger/Sako" and nothing else
Then it's 28 in/lbs for the ring top screws and 45 in/lbs for the keeper clamps to the dovetail.

Well, the medium rings are just mm's too short for either scope I would mount on it.. Hopefully I can just exchange through amazon..

On a side note, I had a Zeiss Conquest or a Leupold Vx3i I could have put on.. The tube length between the bells on the leuold is too short to use these rings on. I can not bring the rings close enough. When I get it close, the bottom screw bottoms out before it pinches the dovetail..

I've never had such a pain finding rings/bases for a rifle. Cabelas had nothing in stock that would fit. So I had to order online. Shipping is so high right now!

Mounting a scope on a Sako is generally a compromise...a short action cartridge is better for scope fitment

I'd run 30in lbs on the bigger screw clamping it to the dovetail and 15in lbs on the ring cap screws

Any ideas as to why that is the case? thanks!

That is why it is best to use Sako rings... as in the opti locks .
You may experience a spent shell dropping back into the chamber area if you use anything else.
There was a time that this was a common situation back when the 85 models came out and guys mounted anything but Sako rings.
Been a number of years since reading of guys with those issues, but be prepared for some frustrations should you sue anything other than Sako.

I read all kinds of reviews for mounts.. Turrets in the way, brass not ejecting etc..

I'm lefty, so turrets shuoldn't get in the way I think. I also prefer simple.. and I didn't want to put opti locks on it when there is already a base..

I am sure my leupold mounts will work out once I get the right height.. If not, I'll switch.

Leupold got back to me

45 inch-pounds for the clamp screw to the Receiver, and 25-28 inch-pounds max for the Ringtop screws.
