leupold scope,discoluring?

Hope this is right area, Ebay has an older leupold scope for sale but the rear eyepiece is a definite "plum" color. Any reason?? Can't think it would affect scope but looks quite curious. JITC

I have two that turned that colour. Contacted Leupold and thye said that was "normal".

I've got on older VariX-II 2-7X33 that has turned that color. I consider it the mark of a classic.

It is common for the older Leupold scopes to turn a "PLum" colour but their great warranty will look after you. If the plum colour bothers you just send it back to Leupold and they will exchange it for a new one

Whatever you do don't send it to the states, they have a great repair facility in Okotoks Alta. address and phone is on Leupold's website, no border bulls**t to put up with

I have a Leupold M-8 that is over 30 years old and its that color. But it still puts the bullets in the same holes it did when it was new.

X2!! I have no issues with that "Plum" color. The scope still works great!!

i dont think leupold would replace the scope simply because it turned plum, i would think that something mechanical would have to be wrong with it!

One of my M12 Leupold scopes is having it's 38th birthday in March. It's such a beautiful plum color that I cannot ever give it up.

I have a couple of plum-coloured Leupold's and they look just great atop a couple of Rugers that have matching plum-coloured receivers!
