I have two leupold scopes from my Silhouette shooting days. My question what is involved in removing them. They seem to be glued on the threads. Thanks for any replies.

I am just going through the commotion to install a number of scopes here - which threads do you mean? I have screws into the receiver to hold the bases to receiver; I have cross bolt screws to transfer recoil and I have ring cap screws to hold the scope tightly. Or are you meaning that the scope bodies have been "glued" to the rings??

My guess for "glue" is that you will have to figure out a way to make it let go without wrecking the components - maybe brute force to "crack it"; maybe heat to melt it; maybe chemical to dissolve it? Kind of hard to guess what will work without knowing what the glue used was, though??

The eye piece comes off no problem but the doubler threads on to the tube . There doesn't seem to have any screws or nuts on the doubler. If it is held on with locktite I know Iit will have to be heated. There is a internal ring nut inside of the doubler by the erector I think I have it figured out I will leave it alone and send it to Korth for repair.

You made a wise choice to NOT experiment! Money well spent in order to NOT damage or destroy a quality scope. With age comes patience and knowing what your capabilities are. Glad it turned out for you.
