Hey folks,

I recently purchased a .375H&H from a felow CGNer.

They said they only had a couple rounds through it. It has leupold windage rear base and im wondering how these are going to hold up to he abuse of the 375.

I have never used these bases/rings before and instead of trial and error and wasting time usually head straight to picitinny/weaver rail mounts.

Would you folks have concerns with this setup on your 375?

I have used the standard Leupold rings on a 338x8mmremmag, a couple of 300RUM rifles, and five 7mmSTW rifles, with no issues at all. The key is to torque the windage screws properly.

I know a few people that won't use them on rifles chambered in more than 300WM, preferring the Dual Dovetail for the higher recoil rifles. I did have a set of standards on my .338WM once but did have issues with the rifle holding zero. I'm not sure if it was a scope or a ring problem but swapping out both cured the problem. I changed to the dual dovetails. I guess shooting it and finding out is one way to know for sure.

I think im going to switch out for a rail and burris sigs.

I lapped the rings this morning, and the front ring looks fine. The back ring has a problem, when I torque it, it turns counter clockwise slightly (torqued to 45lbs). Enough that i cant get it to line up properly. Since im putting a new ziess in it, I dont want scope marks/bites.

i run talley one piece on an 8 mag and 375H&H. hold tight and don't mark up the scope tube. i also use the talleys on smaller mags and have never had one come loose.

yup one piece aluminum talleys. i use them on many rifles. t3 in 300 wsm and 7 mag as well as my 8mag and 375. i have had very good luck with them. once set they stay until removed. the 8 mag probably has worse recoil than the 375.

I couldn't find steel Talleys when I first got my 375 built so I used a set of one piece aluminums but they wouldn't hold zero for me.
