What ever happened to service? I have a Savage 110L and I picked up a Leupold 1 piece SS base and the rear hole doesn't line up. I called leupold and the fella I talked to said " Gee that's to bad nothing I can do" and hanged up, I'm glad he wasn't in front of me. The shop were I picked it up closed a few months ago

maybe you bought the wrong mount the old non accutrigger base is not the same as the accutrigger model.or maybe you should have bought a Remington...:D

The 2 front ones are perfect and the rear hole in the base lands in the middle of the 2 holes in the action, my 110 was made in 1959, the base has 110LH stamped on it.

Maybe, but you would think the Leupold rep try to do something rather than hang up, how do they expect me to fork over $400 to $500 for a scope?

Where exactly did you call? Was it the repair depot in Okotoks Ab? If so, I am very surprised. I have dealt with them many times and have had nothing but superior service.

Leupold Sucks!
HEATHEN!!! BLASPHAMY!!! May a large stye appear on your dominant shooting eyelid and a pimple grow on your trigger finger. Into the rising sun on the morn, say three shooter's prayers towards the great factories in the East. Only then will forgiveness be given. Oh, and the jerk that hung up on you needs to be spanked.

i agree the guy could have been nicer, but the issue about the base is related to your savage they have changed bolt jigs a few times since 59, you will find that on a new savage the holes line up. i would suggest having the old holes filled and new ones drilled and tapped. also have your tried a 2 piece base with it ? BTW LH means Lefthand i think

PS only buy a remington if you have enough money to spend on mods to make its as accurate as a savage is out of the box

6.5 x 55,
A 1959 build date would put your rifle in the second year of production. I didn't know that the left hand action went back that far. It's hardly suprising that Savage changed their hole pattern in the following 48 years, but how is that Leupolds fault?

Why don't you cut your losses and invest in a set of weaver bases. They're reasonable price, and they make em for all sorts of ancient rifles. Then anchor you scope with Burris Zeeeeeee rings. Rings might cost a little more, but you'll save on bases.

What you probably have is a Series J action which falls in between Savage's modern long and short actions. If this is the case, you will not likely be able to find a one piece base of any kind for it.I know this from experience as I own four Series J actions.
