Leupold Switch Power Binos?

I looked through them at the SCI show last year. They work quite nicely - when you change the knob from 7 to 12x it just snaps to the other power, doesn't zoom.

Now, looking through binos at a show, even in a massive building like the Reno Sparks Convention Center (which is about 100 yards by 400 yards) isn't the same as using them outdoors, but they were bright enough in the dark corners or when resolving detail on the abundance of mounted game at the show. If I was in the market for binos I'd give them some serious thought. The only bad thing is that with the high power and small objective they could be dim early in the morning or late in the evening.

I thought very hard before I bought my pair; I even posted on this site before I bought. The only response that I got was negative. I can honestly say that for the type of hunting that I do they are the perfect binocular. I still hunt, and having the ability to go to a higher power only occasionally when I need it is perfect. 12 power isn't great in the fading light, but when your trying not to move, yet still get a slightly closer look, you can't get any better (bar the Lecia Duovid at well over double the price). You get the Leupould lifetime warranty, so if mechanics ever do become a problem, it is fixed quickly without question, and the optics are excellent..........you may be able to get better, but your spending a whole lot more money. I for one have absolutely no regrets in buying these binocs. If your thinking of buying them, shop online for a shop that sells overstock; I got mine for right around $800.00. I'm generally a simple is better person, but in this case, I simply could not overlook the benifits that these binocs offered. We've been using variable power scops for years, and enjoying the benifits, and now, it's no different with binoculars.
