Leupold switch-power

Has anyone had any experience with the Leupold switch power binoculars? Are they worth the money optically? I'm thinking that I could have these binocs instead of having both a spotting scope and binocs with me while I'm backpacking; does anyone have any thoughts on this?

DO NOT DO IT. Leica used to have swith powers and they stopped selling them for a reason. The glass on a swith power is just plain bad. They aren't cheap units either. I have heard a lot of bad things about them back when I was interested in them. For that price you could buy two binos or a bino and an elite spotting scope(which are pretty darn descent for the money). Just my opinion though.
