well i finally took the plunge, and dropped the dough for a leupold:)
just a couple of quick questions regarding a scope i bought today.
it is a leupold vari-x III (used) 6.5-20x40ao, and i am curious as to what the pricing is for the target turrets and do they work on this model as it has the coin slot dials?
also, i've been reading thru some of the older posts and gather that the older VARI-X III class is comparable to the vx-II class nowadays, is this true?
and does anyone use the leupold lumina lenses or are they crap?
thanks

I think the new vx-2 is the older vari-x 3.I have a vx-3 6.5-20 with the target turrets,50mm side focus.Very nice scope. You could try e-mailing leupold or contacting korth agencies in okotoks for info on installing the turrets.

I paid about 165.00 tax in and returned shipping for mine last year. hutchster I have the same scope used I payed 550.00 for mine a year ago and I have not been able to use it yet. Real nice glass and the turrets look great on it. Real quick turn around to two weeks tops
Good luck

The Alumina flip scope covers are a little pricy ($55 each) but are well worth it as they are quiet and can be folded down flat.. These will only fit the new VX models , not the Vari X as it would have to be sent to Korth Agencies to have the scope altered to accept the new covers (about $85). Phil.

yeah i was reading about the alumina's and the scope needing to be rethreaded, too bad, they just look so much more sleek than the bc flips:cool:
but at 85$ for threading and $110 for the caps, they don't fall under my needs at the moment:(

im pretty sure the target turrets wont work with that model.

check your dials, if they are the ones that dont have an audible click when you turn them then its one of the older scopes and the target turrets are incompatible.

how much did you pay for it if you dont mind my asking?
