Hello all, I’m looking for some info and advice. I might trade for a Vari-x3 European but google and even the leupold site is 0 help at all. I can’t find any specs or any information on the adjustment range. I’m mainly wondering if I can get exposed turrets for it as it’s an old scope, serial number dated it to 1996 from what I can tell. Any help would be great thanks.

I have a couple of older Leupolds that I think are from around that time; they were usually referred to as "Euro 30" models, and they both are marked "European 30" on the left side of the turret housing. I don't recall ever seeing or hearing of a Vari-X3 European, so maybe just change your google search term and try again?

Mine are both 2-7x33mm, with a 30mm tube (obviously...), and the adjustments are metric (1 click = 1cm @ 100meters). One has a standard duplex reticle, the other is a German #4. Adjustments are coin-adjustable (!) clicks.

Adjustment range, as in total MOA range? No idea. I seem to recall reading somewhere many moons ago that these were among the 30mm scopes that didn't derive any greater range of adjustment than a "standard" 1-inch tube scope because the internal mechanicals were identical. Perhaps just made with a bigger tube to sound more "Euro"? Dunno; that tube size was much more of a novelty then than it is now.

One of them is mounted on a Brno double rifle and has not had its adjustments touched in probably 10 years or more. It gets shot at least a few times yearly, and has been on a number of hunts; still dead on. The other one sits in a Blaser QD mount and is usually the scope I would pack on a hunting trip as a back-up to the primary scope; it's been re-sighted-in many times over the years, on several different barrels in several different chamberings, but has never actually "entered the fray" as it hasn't been needed. It sights-in easily and with no unexpected surprises.

Nice scopes; I like 'em.

Here’s the pic, I’m so confused cause I can’t find literally anything on google. It’s actually driving me insane hahaha 4D6A8DBE-AF08-4928-9CAC-50642F4F962D.jpg

Yeah, I've never heard of or seen that model before.

If you want to know the adjustment range, why not just dial from one end to the other and count it out yourself?

By the way, that's not a Vari-X3...it's a VariXIII. There is a difference. Leupold had VariX's and VX's, and used numbers and Roman numerals and who knows what else. Maybe that's part of the problem with google?

Honestly I’ve tried everything haha, I typed the name right off the picture and I’ve tried every variation. The only thing I found is another one that’s the same looking on eBay lol. I don’t have it yet I was thinking of trading my Remington 1100 turkey blaster but now I’m not sure cause I have no idea what it is lol. Could it be fake?

Beats me, there are all kinds of Leupold counterfeits and forgeries on the market. Would they bother to make a counterfeit version of a 30-year-old scope?

Send the serial number to Leupold and see what they say.

From what I can understand it’s just a normal vari-xiii which is basically the vx2 with a 30mm main lol. I thought I knew my leupold a but this one has me stumped. I’ll call korth in the morning and see what they can tell me. Thanks for your help!

Last used scope I bought, when I contacted Korth to confirm the serial number they sent me directly to Leupold as they don’t do that anymore.
The guy at Leupold was great; I gave him my serial number and he told me everything I needed to know.
So I’d just call Leupold direct, I have no doubt they will help you.
