Can't go wrong with NXS. Never had to use it, but I hear NF offers a no questions asked type warrenty, but you'll have to ship it across the border. Not that you should ever need to use it, they are built like tanks.
All NXS scopes are illuminated, you pull outward on the parallax knob, it moves about 1/16" and clicks. Only one setting though, which can be adjusted if you take the turret knob off. But, the factory default is about the right brightness for twillight/night work.
As for reticles, you need to know what your intended use is. Mine has the MLR with Mil turrets. I like it, but 1/10 Mil is quite coarse. Mils are used by the military because they make for faster adjustments in the field.
If you plan to do target shooting, or really precise work, then I would suggest the NP-R1 reticle with 1/8th MOA turrets. Thats what I want now.
