Leupold VX-1 3-9x40mm Or Vortex Viper 4-12x40 BDC

Just acquired a Weatherby Back Country in .270 Win
I have both theses scopes Leupold VX-1 3-9X40 mm and a Vortex Viper 4-12x40 BDC and not sure what would be the better set up for this rifle.

I would not put a vortex scope on a gun for any hunt I cared about, or paid to be on, unless it was a PST or higher model, and at those price ranges I would buy something else.

You however, already own the scope and it may be proven on another platform...
