Leupold VX-I vs Rifleman

The Rifleman and the VX I compare like this: Both have one peice tube, same material tube, the same erecter 3 system and internals as all Leupolds. This is also the same for the VX II's. The differences are here. The Rifleman has magnesium fouride coating. The VXI has a standard Multi coating a step above the Riflemans coating. The VX II has Muti coat 4 that is a step above the VX I. So the coatings are where the differences are first. Then on the Rifleman you have the friction adjustments on the turrets 1/2". The VX I You get the friction adjustments on the turrets at 1/4"turns. The VX II has 1/4" click adjustments on the turrets. The other difference I know of is the VX I and VX II can have their reticles changed by leupold for other reticles types and the Rifleman does not offer that. Basically, though the Rifleman is the tried and true legendary scope Leupold became famous for, The VariX II. The VX I and VX II have been bumped up in technology some and set themselves apart there.

i have a vx1 and a rifleman in 3x9. side by side can't see any difference. once sighted in the difference in 1/2 and 1/4 adjusters is moot. against my vx11's there is a noticable differnce in the glass.
