Has anyone on here used these scopes? looking for something with a big FOV and pretty good at low light situations, will be used for hunting. Should I just go with a vx-3 instead?

I have the VXR 3 to 9 x 40 and use it on my 20g shotgun for both turkeys and deer ,,,I really love this scope for all my hunting so far ,works very well in low light and I donot have to worry about batteries going dead as the crosshair is still usable with out batteries ,,,the only thing I would change is the on off switch,I am not a fan of the push button and would rather have a dial with a more defined click threw the range of brightness settings .other then that I have no other issues with this fine scope ,,,The red dot in the center of the cross hair is very fast on target ,I used a red dot before and loved it for this fact but always had in the back of my mind a dead battery ,so I went with the scope with a crosshair and a red dot ,,,I love how fast I can get on running deer or on a turkeys head with the red dot ,,,,,Dutch

I have the 1.25-4 with the illuminated red dot at the centre of the cross hairs and really like it. Used it on a moose hunt last year. Worked great.

I have a VXR 3-9x40 as well. I bought the firedot duplex mounted it on a 7mmRM. I really like the optics of it. The relief and eye-box are very good. The glass is brighter , or seems to be brighter than my 2 other Leupolds (both vx3). The weight is ok (not great, but not bad either considering its lit).
The button is very inconspicuous , but its not as user friendly as i would like for the same reason mentioned above. The dot itself is probably the best i have in my gun case (which includes Trijicon and aimpoints) -- i think battery powered fiber-optics makes for a much finer dot than LED reflected or unpowered Fibre -- it is still bright to see , but doesn't smother the target. It is noticeably better than all my others.
Fit and finish on mine are great. But it did not come with Lens covers.

I too have a 3-9x40 Windplex Firedot. I've only just mounted it on my .338-06 a couple week ago and had it to the range twice. So far I'm loving the illumination. Bright or dull but more importantly small, it's a really nice dot. I'm no scope expert but the glass is quite nice, for my eyes it works great. Hopefully it'll help me with a big, black moose in some big, black trees early October! :d

I have the 1.25-4 and it is a great scope. The only thing that Could don't like is that it's 1.25 not true 1 X. I didn't think it woul be g me when I bought it, but it does. I kinda sorta wish I'd waited and bought the Sightron 1-7 :(

Other than that it is a very nice scope.
