I'm considering to invest in a new scope, I have tried Vortex Viper, It is an outstanding scope for the price, but I need something in the first focal plane and superior optical clarity. So I have my eyes fixed on the new Leupold LRP lines, specificly 4.5-14x50, hoping this scope can be used as a hybride for hunting(50-350yards) and target shooting(200-800yards). I know this is a alot to ask for a scope. I hope the LRP's feature is sufficient. The only concern is the usability of the reticle in low power. I was really hoping they would offer a version with illumation TMR reticle.
Question: Is Leupold LRP 4.5-14x50 ffp TMR usable in low power under low light condition.
I know Nightforce offers the SHV, but I don't like the features and price, they might be more durable, but I'm looking for a scope, not a hammer.(fun fact, in China, Sichuan provience, hammer means dum-ass). The Leupold MK4 is also pretty awlsome, but I doesn't have zero stop, and too pricey. For $2000++, I would pick a Bushnell DMR or Delta Stryker(maybe not Delta, it's new to the market, samilar reason for Sightron: small cult follower, not enough market size).
All I want is a scope with 3-20 powers, ffp reticle, clear glass, and illuminated reticle.

I can't comment on FFP TMR - I have only used that ret in SFP. Given how thick the outer posts are, I don't think you will have a problem centering a target in the reticle at low magnification, but it may give up a precision aim point in low light.

Based on your requirements, it might be worth checking out the Bushnell LRHS 4.5-18x. Good glass, FFP, available w/ illumination.
