Leupold VXII vs VXIII

I'm shopping for a new scope and have decided on either a VXII or VXIII. Is the VXIII worth the extra coin and what if any real world difference does the extra money make?

I've read the Leupold pages but I'm looking for first hand opinions. Cheers Steeleco
 
the newest VX-II scopes have the Multi-Coat 4 and 1/4 moa click adjustments, same as the previous Vari-X III scopes.

I have several Vari-X IIIs, and recently a VX-II 3-9x40, and can say that the newest VX-II is fully equal optically to the older Vari-X III scopes, which were pretty good themselves.

If one of the VX-II models fits what you are looking for, i wouldn;t hesitate to buy one, you won;t be giving up any optics

Is $375cdn. a good price for a VX-II 2-7 33m? If so does anyone have one?

Thanks all, I just landed a deal on a NIB VXII 3x9x40 on EBay for $275 US
Left me enough money to score a FX1 4x28 for my 10-22.

Can't wait to get them on a stick at the range!!!
 
A more asthetics feature of the VXIII's is the knob on the power which makes adjusting magnifiaction easier. With adjusting the power to bracket a deer with the reticles, you are supposed to be able to read the distance.
 
damaged vari x 3

A friend bent the main tube on his vari x 3 scope. Will leupold send him a VX 2 or VX 3 to replace the no longer available vari x 3?
Anyone know?
