I spoke to Terry Korth (Leupold Canada) yesterday and he advised the following; the warranty had not changed for Leupold products in Canada. You always could send the product to Leupold in Beaverton Oregon for warranty but the delay is the return of the item. Once to item has been repaired, Leupold advised you to get an IIC (international import certificate) and then Leupold will ship back to you on their export licence for warranty (this has opened up somewhat from the past and appears easier for them to ship under existing permits). This process usually adds 2-3 weeks plus additional shipping time to return the item to Canada. Currently Korth Agencies (Leupold Canada) can perform warranty on site for all scopes with the exception of the Mark 4's (with M1 and M3 turrets), VX-L's and VX-7's. These items not serviced in house are usually replaced with a new unit. There was a suggestion by Leupold that all warranty for Canada should be done by Beaverton Oregon but Terry has requested that this service be left in Canada and that they be upgraded (this cost is significant) so that all warranty can be done by them. Terry realizes the importance of having this service is in Canada and the resulting sales that go with this ability to service in house. I will advise any updates that arrive. The Windriver binos and spotters are usually replaced if there is a warranty problem and the gold ring products are sent back to the USA for service. Phil.
