Leupold's new switch power binoculars

Has anyone seen/handled a pair of these?

They seem like they'd be the cat's pyjamas for a hunting binocular, especially for hunts where a spotting scope might be impractical.

I'd really like to know how the clarity is at 17X.

I handled a prototype at this years Shot Show and it seems to be a great idea but have yet to receive our shipment. Leica also has a similar concept in their Duovids. Phil.
