How level should a free float rail be with the upper? On my previous ar I was able to slide optics all the way across the rail. On my new rifle they get hung up on the small change in height and a very small cant. It seems no matter how much I tighten it or loosen the screws I can't get it right. Should I be worried about this or is it good enough? This is on a Daniel defense v5 with ddm4 rail
Thanks

I presume you're running MBUS sights? Why are you sliding your rear sight from the front? As for the "lean" or windage issue with your front sight, you need to adjust your rail system to be more square and true to the receiver. Eyeballing it works but a detachable carry handle or something similar that will quasi clamp to both the receiver and handguard will keep it aligned.

Brownells sells an alignment tool for this. Works great. You can also use a scope ring bridging the gap to get the rail in place before yoou tighten it.
