......The Model 30 was the Marlin made for Glenfield model. Glenfield distributed these to dept stores i believe like Macleods, and Home Hardware back in the day.

........Same Marlin action but just a cheaper birch stock. It would essentially be the 336A of today.
 
I have a Marlin 30AS and I love it. Great little deer gun! $350 seem a little expensive though, unless the scope is really nice. You can get a brand new 336A at SIR for $389.99.
