I'm sure most know this, but I've fixed 4 different model 1895 Marlins as of late and the issues were the same in each one,not loading correctly.I started with tightening all the screws ,especially the loading gate screw as when that is loose its a jam everytime.
The problems causing the feeding /loading issues in these guns were different, each had really gummed up magazine tubes,Not letting the follower do its job, instead it would stick and move too slow, even with that big spring pressure they still stuck.
I took the mag tubes of and cleaned them with g-96 and old rag with some glitz metal polish to smooth up the tube inside. This made each rifle work amazing .I replaced two followers with the Wild West guns aluminum mag follower and two were left factory, all work very nice ,no jams or slow feeding now that the tubes have been cleaned up.
If anyone has issues with their 1895 ,try the tube cleaning trick first,it might just be your issue.
