Pardon my ignorance, but what differences would you expect to see between a civilian version and a military version of a pistol?
Rollingrock's M14 to M305 comparison might not satisfly you...how about Norinco SKS vs Real military issue (PLA) SKS, you can tell by the prices even the military rifle for sure is a well used one:D

or if you need a sample in pistol...wartime Luger or walther p38 and civie version of them.

RollingRock, if the one Lever selling is military issue then how about spare parts supply???

Waiting for your range report...:)

Hey GT, any such discussions of Norinco products in the past would usually occasion a diatribe from you about supporting the PRC regime, human rights violations and so on. Getting soft in your old age?

Why would anyone pick that thing over, say, an identically priced CZ-75 or a marginally more expensive Viking MP-446?

In its origional Caliber I would buy it at the current price. Otherwise this pistol does nothing pistol's of slightly higher price can do.

I went down to Lever on Saturday for CF98.

The finish is okay, which is about the same as NP22. The gun looks quite compact and solid though. When I tried racking the slide up, it seemed that the slide fits the frame quite well which is a little different from norc's product. When I shook the gun, nothing rattled. The grip is still plastic, but the whole thing fits my hand pretty well. Usually I dont like double stack because of my small hands. Trigger weight in double action is surprisingly lighter than NP22. But it doesn't take any other 9 mil mags. The three-dot sight is a big improvement, while I've never liked NP22's sights. The safety system is almost the same as Beretta 92F, such as firing pin block, decocking levers on both sides and half-#### feature. Overall this gun didn't bring us many unique designs, I would rate it "okay" basing on what I saw.

Since Kin wasn't in, I wasn't able to get as much info as I could. But according to those who I know and had put substantial number of ammos through this gun, this gun is very accurate and reliable. Wish I had the chance to try.

590 bucks for this gun is still reasonable given its improved features and design. But it's not a must-have gun in your safe, unless someone gives us an exceptional range report.
