So I had my wife out at the range shooting today, her first time out in about 1.5 years (we just had two kids in the last 2 years so go figure). After quickly realizing she shoots better lefty (she's also left eye dominant) I had her shoot my Glock 22 from 7, 10, 15, 20, and 25 meters. She had never shot from 25 m before but by shooting slowly she was able to get 6 or 7 of nine on the target, and 5 of those in the 'A'. From closer in she was 75% 'A' and the rest C or D.

The only potential problem is she has very small hands (she's only 5'3"). Can anyone recommend a production legal gun that might fit her better than the Glock that also has either ambi slide/magazine release or is set up lefty from the factory?

Consider the Springfield XD9 or XD40...they are a great pistol for people with smallish hands, and they also have an ambi mag release as standard for lefties.

Shameless self-promotion - the Tanfoglio Force models are ridiculously small grips.
(imagine a 1/8" plastic wrapper around a CZ-75 mag.)
I've never felt a double stack thinner.
Force L, Force Sport and Force Pro.
Available through a dealer near you...(Like TSE!)

I'll have to give TSE a call and see if they have any in stock. Even better would be if they have one as a range gun so she can shoot it.

I'm a lefty and really like the the XD series. TSE has an XD9 in the rental pool as well.

My kid has small hands (4'10) and she shoots all my hand guns. What she has the most problems with is the long double action trigger. The gun I will be getting her is a glock or the S&W mp as her finger will fit the trigger right.
