Thanks for the replies, I've never owned a .22. I was just given the Cooey 600 and was wondering about the bolt. At the very back of bolt is a little pin that sticks out, and the bolt rotates counter clockwise and that pin slides into a groove. What is that for? Is that a safety?
yeah, its a safety, but most i believe just grip the bolt, pull the trigger and carefully ride it forward for safety, then its just a quick pull back (like a cooey 39) to be ready to shoot.
Yeah I usually just uncock it much better than the safety. Also before my scope rings would get in the way of the safety, not enough meat on the back of the receiver to properly mount the scope.
