Hey Guys,
I'm at a loss here.
I've got a tikka t3 Varmint in 7mm Mag here that doesn't shoot. (Best groups are 2MOA 3 shots). Confirmed with more that one shooters to insure I wasn't flinching (I can usually tell by myself if I do so)

All the indications and testing done by Precision shooters tell my my stock is the culprit. I'll never get the accuracy of the barrel or action out if I remain in this stock.

This is my issue. I can find plenty of Stocks that fit the sporter profile in a LH or Plenty that fit the bull barrel profile (Or Varmint) in RH. But no one seems to make any in LH.
I've spoken to Bell and Carlson, they have nothing for me. I'm going to Call Mcmillan tomorrow, but I know I will despise the price.

Have any LH tikka shooters found something that works with the Bull barrel.
Thanks,

EDIT*** LOOKING FOR A HUNTING/VARMINT STOCK not a Chassis.

Lots of options. I have left hand McMillan A5’s. MCRS tactical, Boyd’s, wildcat composites. All makeleft handed stocks. Never heard of a Tikka shooting that terrible

Any MDT chassis for your action will fit. You will simply have to have a bolt handle relief milled for left hand. Been there, done that.

Looking for something that would still hunt good. An Aluminum Chassis is not my favorite thing. I'd rather sell the thing and build a 700 if it comes to that.

What about Cadex? they might have something in the "competition" line?

Frank on the "Hide" dropped one in a Cadex and it looked pretty good to me?

McMillan has some for sure, waiting on a quote now.
MCRS Tactical is a new one for me, but I'm going to check. It looks promising.
Boyds is a no go, with a short back and forth they said they couldn't help me.
Wildcat is another new one, I'll give them a call to see.

I don't know what to tell you, I have two other T3s that shoot fine. But around here anyways it looks like T3s and T3X do not like Magnums. None of them shoot sub MOA (as advertised). That being said my 22-250 Varmint T3 shoots 1/2 MOA with most factory rounds. That's why I'm at a loss. I don't want to get rid of it per say. But If I can't find a stock I won't play with it much longer.

Again. I'm not sure I'll keep the gun if I need to drop it in a Chassis

OK, I understand, what about getting the stock bedded?, then if it doesn't shoot, drop the coin for a new stock? or sell it?
If you go McMillan or Manners, then get the "mini chassis" and that will alleviate the bedding in the new stock.

I use a McMillan A3/5 on my T3x CTR LH

You can also get the McMillan Game Warden in LH Tikka, which will fit the Varmint contour barrel

My buddy's T3x Lite SS 7mm Rem Mag shoots half moa with 160gr Nosler Accubonds, so they can certainly shoot in a magnum chambering. What bullet are you shooting in yours that is doing 2moa?

try using different bullets and make sure your scope is good (the crosshairs don`t jump on you) with that caliber I bet it could be happening with a cheap scope.

That stock looks awesome. What's the barrel contour like on the CTR, how would it compare to the "Varmint" contour?
Yeah as of right now it looks like McMillan or Manners will be my go too, the prices just hurt..like a lot. (That being said I don't have the quote yet. so I may be exaggerating lol)

Sako Hammerhead was best with 2 MOA, Actually 140gr Hornadys went 1.5MOA but that's still not what i'd consider good And I'm using this for moose so I'd like at the very least a 160gr bullet.
Most Federals, all shot 3 MOA
Corelocked Shot 2.5 MOA
Nosler with Partitions at 2.75MOA
the list goes on...I spent a tonne of money trying different ammo.

As I posted just above, I've tried countless different combinations of factory ammo with highly inconstant results. This is not my first tikka, and I've fired a bunch of other one. However I've come accross 4 with the same issue, all in polymer stocks and magnum calibers.

Scope rings where checked and double checked, lapped.
The scope was swapped out for a known good nightforce, same results.
My scope was installed on a target rifle (for good measure) known to give good results and the rifle still shot .4 MOA
It is a cheap scope (Bushnell Elite 4500 HD) but it shouldn't be doing that.

How long have you owned the gun? Can you send it to Stoeger for warranty since it won't meet their accuracy guarantee?

Fwiw....i doubt the stock is the problem.

Although we manufacture T3 stocks that all take Varmint left hand actions, I do not think that 3 shot best group 2MOA is because of the factory stock. We do see improvements with well epoxy bedded stocks however they are not that dramatic. Especially not off the bench with consistent hold. I have little experience with the T3 Varmint 7RM but our Sako importer has a Lite in 7RM which shot fantastic in the original stock as well as in one of our stocks. Could you have a bad barrel?
T3's are mostly not that finicky with the bedding, could you not borrow a stock from someone to test?
