Someone was told by a game warden that there is a new law that states you must have a PAL while using a firearm along with you hunting lic. True or false?

Doesnt just the owner of the firearm need the PAL, and not the one borrowing it?

You need a license to use a firearm, now if you are in direct contact of someone with a PAL there are a few instances that you would not need one.

i was told you need a PAL even to pick up a gun and look at it in a gun shop!! i do believe you require at least a POL even to borrow one.

sounds like that gun store just didn't want to spend time on someone who wasn't buying.

you need to be under the supervision of someone with a PAL to use a firearm.

I've been told if you have a POL you can only use firearms that are registered to you. If you have a PAL you can borrow, buy and use firearms other than those registered to you but you are supposed to have the registration card for that firearm with you. When hunting you are supposed to have you're hunting licence, registration card for the firearm you are using and you're POL/PAL with you. This is what a C/O told me last year on the deer hunt, although he never did ask for the registration cards or POL/PAL just our hunting licences.

"...if you have a POL you can only..." Possess the firearm. You can't buy any more. You can buy ammo.
From the CFC's site.
"you do not need a licence to use a borrowed firearm if you remain under the direct and immediate supervision of a properly licensed adult aged 18 or older while you are in possession of the firearm."
You must be in the same blind/stand if you're to be "under the direct and immediate supervision of a properly licensed adult".
