Licence Conditions?

So I got my PAL in the mail today - finally.

I read through the paper it was attached on and it says to detach the bottom portion (license conditions) and carry it with your license at all times as a peace officer (etc) might want to see it at any time along with your license.

Now I'm looking at this, it's a small piece of paper that I can see getting wet, muddy and just all in all damaged when I go out shooting.

What do you guys do with the licence conditions?

Yup, one more BS paper crime for gun owners. It's the law in Ontario to let the Ministry of Transportation know within 6 days if you move to a new address... yet I don't need to carry around a piece of paper that tells me that, with the risk of jail time if I can't produce said piece of paper. Why I have to carry around of piece of paper saying I need to let the CFO know within 30 days of moving..... *sigh*

I scan all of my firearms-related stuff (reg certs, licenses, etc), and make multiple redundant copies. That way if anything ever gets destroyed/lost/etc, I just print off another copy and I'm good to go. If you have a smartphone, it's not a bad idea to keep a copy of everything in JPEG format on your phone too!

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I just noticed this myself.

I had just finished scanning a copy (old habit) and was about to shred the original when I saw it.

I know this is a governmental thing and calling it retarded is likely redundant.... o_O

I mean come on aren't we going backwards here like when the FAC was a slip of paper and your driver's license was 2 pieces?

An Alberta "Operator's License" has more information printed on it than the PAL card.

I mean really there's more than enough room on the back of the card to print "conditions" on as well as printing them where the "Standard conditions are attached to this license."

Boggles the mind...
