I just bought a Marlin M375 and would like to work up some light cast bullet loads for plinking with it. Ben Hunchak sent me a selection of bullets to test out, ranging from 235gr to 255gr, both plain base and gas checked. The rifle has the micro-groove rifling so I will have to keep velocities down below ~1600fps to avoid leading issues.
I was thinking of using Red Dot as I have a good supply and it seems to be a decent choice for light cast bullet loads in a large variety of rifle cartridges. Does a starting load around 8.0-9.0gr with the above bullets seem like a reasonable choice?
Anybody have any other pet loads/powders for this cartridge using cast bullets?
Thanks,
Mark
