Just out of curiosity, how low can you load a cartridge? Specifically 270win bolt? Is there a limit? My thought is that at some point the brass would no longer grab the chamber walls and all the force would be against the bolt. What are your opinoins and reasons for same?

with Bluedot, very low powder charges, very low speeds

with H4895, you can drop the max by 40% and still not encounter weird internal pressure problems, according to Hodgdon

10grs. 700-x ,1500 fps any weight cast bullet.....they don't get stuck in the barrel as easily with light loads. You could load much lighter still with a .27 cal. round ball.

All recoil, regardless of the amount of powder in the cartridge, recoils on the bolt!........ and upon firing , the case expands a small amount for a very reduced load to full chamber expansion for regular loads........

In rifles depending on what powders you use, you can go down to about 1100 fps with jacketed bullets and probably down to 750 fps with cast alloy bullets and have them clear the bore consistantly.........

Have taken LUBRICATED 500 gr cast bullets in 45/70 from usual speeds down to 475 fps. with 1.5 inch group /50 yds...

........I'm guessing your new to reloading and won't list any powders nor loads to achieve this " sling-shot" velocity........

hs4570............your mileage may vary
