Looking for a light weight, good quality, 3-9 or 4-12 sope. What would you recommend to be mounted on a 257 WBY magnum..

While certainly not the "best bang for your buck", Leupolds almost always come in lighter and trimmer than the competitors.
I'd recommend looking into a VX-3 3.5-10 X 40mm.

I have had good results with leupolds, bushnell elites, and Burris FFII. I would suggest looking at the minox line they are quite reasonably priced, bright glass, good eye relief, I found their weight to be a bit less than most others when I was comparing. Plainsight solutions here had an excellent promo on them a couple months back, not sure if he still does.

Swarovski Z3 3-9x36 with plex reticle. Regular price: $1,235...on promo for $825.

Easily the lightest, lowest profile, brightest and clearest scope available for that money.

And I still have great deals on Minox...which are also eligible for a $50 rebate from Minox!
