Lighten trigger in M305

In The US 30 Caliber Gas Operated Service Rifles Shop Manual book by Jerry Kuhnhausen he instructs you on how to alter the trigger group to within NM specs. When all said and done you end up with a trigger pull of approx 4.5 lbs.
Looking through it you have to be very accurate and have the right tooling to do this job. Definately not a dremel job.

BTDT several times ...
don't waste your time working with Chinese parts.

Start with USGI trigger, hammer, and NEW trigger and hammer pins, follow Kuhnausen's book and keep the chinese parts uncut as spares in case you screw up.

Just a tip ... if you go too far, you can slip a piece of emory paper between the trigger and the little piece pinned to the trigger . Polish there a few minutes at a time to firm up engagement a bit.

NOTE: don't try to go below 4.5 lbs with the stock parts ... otherwise it may looks like it works, but the rifle may double or triple when NOT held tightly against the shoulder when fired.

Listen to Laz, I agree with what he says. I f you do cut thru the chinese case hardening, you can reharden it with kasenite or hardntuff, don't ask how I know this.

You can also use the trigger and hammer from a garand.
