Lightest O/U 20 gauge

I found I do much more walking than shooting for grouse as well and went through this exercise a couple of years ago. Looked at primarily Beretta, Browning and Rizzini.

I had my choice down to the Rizzini Artemis Light 28” at 5lb 8oz and the Browning Citori Feather Lightning 26” at 5lb 13oz. Weights as stated by manufacturer.

I thought the Rizzini was a beautiful gun and would have bought it on the spot, but I just couldn’t get it to fit naturally. I ended up with the Browning as it fit much better. Got a manufacturer rebate and Black Friday sale from Dante, so saved a bit of money as well.

I'm more of a sxs guy but I did have an franchi instinct sl 20 that was under 6 lbs kinda wish i didnt sell it but i really prefer two triggers. These days tho I run a iside vintage at 5 3/4 lbs and an aya no 2 at 6lbs even both in a 20 gauge

I have a very light 12 gauge C.I.L. 1000 Super Field ( rebadged Franchi ) with 28 inch barrels .
Just for yucks I put it on my digital scale.
WOW! 6 pounds 4 ounces with the sling! That's light for a 12, but it's a great field gun with lighter loads.

Was talking with a friend yesterday about lightweight 20 gauge O/U field guns.
A couple come to mind over the years, Franchi Falconet, and a Berreta BL2 are two.
Many of the guns these days hover around the 7 pound mark and it's getting harder to find one at around 6.5 pounds or so.
Field guns need not weigh on the heavy side IMO because they get carried more than shot .
What is everyone's experience with light weight 20's?

I have a 20 gauge Beretta BL3. All steel with 28 inch barrels and weighs 5 pounds 13 ounces as weighed on a post office scale. It works for me hunting grouse.

I wish I could find a 20guage o/u in the 5 to 5.5lb range in a price I can afford.
I ended up buying a montefeltro ultralight semi because it was in that weight category and shouldered so perfectly.
Let us know if you find something

A 7 pound 20 gauge O/U is NOT a field gun. I don't care what the maker calls it.

My Browning Citori White Lightning Feather 20 ga. is 5.7 lbs. The only way it could be better for me is if it had 28" barrels rather than 26". It's a tiny bit muzzle light, which some folks like, but not me. The aluminum receiver does help balance between the hands while paired with the stubby barrels. I have regular Browning Citori White Lightnings in 16 ga. 28", .410 28", and 12 ga 28". The sub - gauge guns stocks all fit the same. The 12 ga. has a tiny bit more drop at comb & heel, which is Ok for water fowling as opposed to shooting upland birds that are typically rising on the flush.
I'm happy with the set, and the "specialist" 20 ga fits in nicely for carrying one-handed in thick ruffed and spruce grouse habitat. The 16 is for serious prairie sharptail & pheasant & hun work. The .410 is for fun, and the 12 is "just because" - it rounds out the set.
If a Citori Lightning fits you, you won't be disappointed with the Feather version.
