No replies...I take this to mean that all the rings for the 19mm CZ/Brno dovetails are heavy. What are the lightest-weight scope rings for the 19mm dovetails on the BRNO ZKK series and the CZ 550 series, etc?
I've mostly used all-steel Talleys, but for my lightweight CZ 537 Steutzen carbine I was hoping to find something lighter.I've just used the Warne steel rings on all of mine. Never worried much about the weight.
No interest in (making or owning) "custom" rifles. I like original factory products. I know at one time a lot of Brno ZKK owners used Parker-Hale aluminum rings, that can still be found, but they have no provision for a recoil stop unless you drill a vertical hole in the receiver.Theyre all steel that I’ve ever seen or used. Do what Darcy Echols did/does and machine the dovetails off, then put whatever you want
I used to regularly go to Kesselrings in the 80s...they have had some trouble since then. (https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/skagit-county-gun-shop-may-have-been-worst-in-us/)Yes … Kesselrings (USA) made scope rings from aluminum … very light and was one of few sources I could find years ago to fit a ZKK … unfortunately when I finally received a set (IIRC 26mm) - I was not impressed with the quality. I think I still have them somewhere. They werent exactly a ‘smooth’ fit on the dovetails.
After reading - and rereading - that link all I can say is that the Kesselring brothers are damned lucky they didnt operate in Ontario … or the Metro Toronto Police would have shot them all to death like Rodger Kotenko FFS!!!!I used to regularly go to Kesselrings in the 80s...they have had some trouble since then. Doesnt have to a vertical "hole", it only has to be about 1.5-2mm deep to the centre. Very easy to achieve in a home workshop with with a drill press and a little bit of care.No interest in (making or owning) "custom" rifles. I like original factory products. Ruins the gun, had a few auction surprises with zg47 rifles. Paker hale “divots” aren’t recknagle mounts.Doesnt have to a vertical "hole", it only has to be about 1.5-2mm deep to the centre. Very easy to achieve in a home workshop with with a drill press and a little bit of care.
