So, bought a used rifle, didnt have all the stuff to put the package together so stored it as per my norm, muzzle down, with a few shots of Remoil down the bore. Been doing this almost 20 years now, but never saw this before. Upon picking it up after a few months and a few extra squirts to loosen up any crud in the core, there were what looked like bloodclots, of copper in the container the muzzle was resting in. When I punched the bore I got more. Almost looks like bright green clear toothpaste.
In the end I used all the bore cleaner I had on this rifle, 3 different brands, to get it clean.
Just wondering if anyone has seen this clotting effect before?

My patches often look way worse and I clean my guns regular. Not sure what the jelly is but it doesn't look like much fouling in it

Almost looks like some grease got washed out. Any grease on the bolt? Want an eye opener buy a bore scope that hooks up to your computer and check out your barrels.
It is amazing how something so rough could shoot so well.
After 50 patches with CR-10 to take out the copper there is still some left in your bore. My bore scope shows me it is true.

My old 303 sporter fouls like that after about 15-20 shots, the barrel isn't pitted an shoots well till the fouling builds up then about an hour to clean. Good thing it has sentimental value or it would be down the road.

No grease. Bore looked bare before it got the remoil, as i pulled the bolt and looked down.
