Lightweight 5.56 optic and mount suggestion

Hello all,

I have a Bushmaster M17 and it's a bit of a boat anchor in it's current setup. In my quest to make it a bit lighter I have filled the receiver with holes a la K&M Arms and am now looking to the optic and mount to get rid of weight.

It has a Hi Lux CMR 1-4 in an el cheapo chinese amazon cantilever mount I picked up. I bought the mount knowing full well I was going to replace it so I'm looking for suggestions.

The Hi-Lux optic is working well for me but I am open to suggestions on a lighter option as it comes in at a full pound. I know about the Aero lightweight mount but would like to hear suggestions for other offerings. Standard (not cantilever) lightweight high scope rings would also do.

Not to many variable optics under 1 pound. Leupold is about the only brand I can think of that can get the weight down. Any more and you might want to consider a red dot as they are oz not lbs. But then you are not getting variable power.
Not too sure on mounts though sorry.
