Lightweight aftermarket stock for Ruger Compact?

I'm thinking of getting a Ruger Compact in .260 Rem as a lightweight sheep rifle and then screwing with it to make it lighter. Anybody know if the Ruger compact action and barrel can fit into a normal model 77 Mk II stock? If no, does anybody know of a lightweight aftermarket stock for the compact?

All the Ruger Mark II actions are the same and stocks for such should interchange without issues....bearing in mind of course there are "short" and "long" actions as well as Barrel diameters to deal with

Cool -- what made me think it might not was this:

"Diagonal front-screw bedding system that firmly anchors the receiver into the stock inletting more effectively than any other system devised."

Which was in the description for the compact but not all the other mark IIs. But after some looking, I found that that bedding system seems to be universal.
