Looking for recommendations for a lightweight aftermarket Tikka T3x hunting stock. Preferably something with an adjustable cheek riser. Any recommendations out there? I’ve seen a few that look decent but all appear to be significantly heavier that my “Lite” tikka stock.

Wildcat or McMillan in my opinion are the lightest and nicest stocks. Neither are cheap purchase options, but have polished off one of my Tikkas' - 9.3x62 and a custom Rem 7 284 Win build.

I don't know of any options that are noticeably lighter than the Wildcat stocks. I don't know what kind of voodoo magic that guy uses, but those Ultra Light Wildcats are damn light. As a lefty I don't have a lot of options for lightweight rifles, a Tikka in a Wildcat is the lightest combo I could find without going crazy in costs. Haven't bought one yet, but one of these days a 280ai Tikka in a wildcat stock will be in my collection...

just grab the factory accessory tikka cheek piece and throw it on to match to your medium height rings, tikka stock is pretty awesome imo, it's what I'm doing if I end up going 30mm scope or larger objective and need to go up one peg on ring height to accommodate a bloated scope profile

otherwise step up to sako 90 adventure and have it done right the first time, or sako 90 peak which isn't adjustable but quite high comb (higher than tikka) combined with low integral picatinny gives gobs of clearance for puffy objectives, I've had to come up twice on ring heights on 90 peak to align perfection, 1.8125" off bore(needs 1.05" ring) now where 1.5" off bore center is tikka t3x lite perfection (without cheek piece, but with tikka it's a struggle to get that low, talley x-low about it in 1" no 30mm option can despite shaved rail and the lowest henneberger 30mm rings which are lowest one can find it's still a full peg too high and would need that tikka cheek piece imo, the sports match t048c/084c apparently bomber set up and with that tikka cheek piece, I'd look at that option also should I decide to Hubbell it one day, I clear 40mm and align with the super low set up mimicking talley x-low

Thanks fellas. Looks like I’ve got some work to do. Funny it was a review of the Sako 90 Adventure that got me headed down this rabbit hole. I’ll check out the options you guys have listed.

factory sako 90 peak carbon stock is 22.4 oz (short action, could be same for long?) and judging by the listed weight difference between the peak short action and adventure short action you could just add that weight difference for that stock weight

grab a 90 peak, you will be able to mount a 50mm without needing a cheek riser no prob, it's just pooling on your money in time labour to research, shipping, ordering stocks and part etc. etc.....it's basically the easy button where as the tikka option is the faafo (fack around and find out) option....good value in the sako adventure imo, if you can live with it's fairly light base weight as it is? it's just a pricy jump to do it once with the Sako's but if you do all the other math including your time to get it sorted it's actually not that much of a jump at all imo, buy once cry once? I'm eyeballing a second scope for my 90 peak in a maven rs.1 moa2 to play with, also buy once cry once potential lol, I think it will clear it's 44mm (52mm actual od) with 1.05" rings and look skookum to boot, may try a budget version first in burrs e1 4.5x14x42 and see if I want to play longer than 450 with it currently wearing a bomber fixed 2.5x that shots moa to 400 so far in my hands pretty easy even though paper test day can do .6 moa as the potential, that gun is worthy of maybe having a couple scope options, bush/prairies lol, picatinny makes it easy to swap out and confirm/quick adjust zero...sako for the win, scopes like shoes for women, one for each day of the week if I want, maybe even a green dot too in the kit? ;)

I went looking for sako 90 peak reviews/ring heights and several show some what look to be 50mm objectives and appear to be in rings at least the typical high or higher with tons of clearance over barrel, Craig Boddington looks like he cleared a solid with my height range of rings and on guy on nz hunt forum also....but I can't find the actual ring heights they used.

Conflux Armoury in Montana looks like the closest dealer for PSE. But I work part time in Idaho so that’s an easy option. Thanks again fellas.

There are lots of good light Tikka stocks but you will end up paying a lot to save a few ounces over the factory 28oz stock. Wildcat are a good price if you finish it yourself but I would want to build-up the comb and grip so might get that professionally done. If you get it finished, or buy a light finished stock like a Peak 44 or others, its well over CAD$1000 by the time you are done. Factory plastic stocks can be found unused for $150. I am currently modifying an older T3 stock buy removing material. It will probably look like a rushed dogs breakfast but its an experiment and will be a functional 20oz stock for just about nothing....

AG Composite makes a beautiful carbon fibre stock, last I checked their website does not list Tikka as an available inlet, but Big Horn says you can get them. I have one on my Defiance 280AI, love the stock--and the rifle too of course.
