Limbsaver for Marlin?

I want to buy a Limbsaver recoil pad for my new marlin 1895 45/70! I was wondering what model to use. I want the fitted one. I know they dont make one exactly correct but I have read that there in one that will fit! I would like to know what that model is.

Go to Limbsaver's web site. All the info you are asking including templates is there.

It also depends on which Marlin. The factory limbsaver fit on my 1895G, but I have an 1895 cowboy and it has a different shape butt stock. Quite different from my guide gun.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've got some pretty hot loads for my guide gun, and I'm thinking that if I'm ever going to practice with this rifle I had better buy one of these recoil pads. If anyone knows the exact model number, it would be greatly appreciated.

Guys, just go to limbsaver.com and download the templates. Compare the templates to YOUR rifle and order the one that fits.

It's a no brainer!

Certainly more accurate than some one's recommendation that has never seen your rifle.

I went to a gunshop and got one that fit my 1895.
I think it was marked for some type of Remington on the box, but fit perfectly.
Just like the gunsmith said it would!

Why would you believe someone that has a "similar rifle to yours" over the actual templates from the manufacturer?

I bought a precision fit for a Remington 870 Wingmaster. Shame it didn't come close to fitting. Had I checked the templates first I would have seen the precision fit pad was not close.
