not here..

I was in a Walmart in Nebraska last week, and aside from the well-stocked gun rack and shotgun ammo selection that vastly exceeds that of my LGS, I was a bit surprised to see a large notice taped on the counter: A limit of two bricks of .22 ammo per person - and there wasn't much sitting around.

As annoyingly expensive as this stuff has become up here, I haven't seen the lack of availability or purchase limits that seem to be the norm in the USA - still.....

This isn't recently, maybe earlier this year around April. When I went looking for 22lr in bass pro not only were they annoyingly expensive but each customer could only buy one box of 222 rounds. This was after they received a shipment, before they had gone weeks without any. Maybe it's better now? I haven't been on the market stocking up recently

There is getting to be lots of availability lately and no limits. Prices seem to have levelled off but are high especially with our dollar difference. I just picked up 12 - 1000 rd packs of Winchester M22 @ $68 ea. The dealer where I picked them up had 62 more in stock plus 72 Remington bucket of bullets, 72 Federal 525 bricks, 80 Winchester Dyna-Point GT and over 25,000 rounds of assorted 40 and 50 round packs.

The CTC store in Kenora had a limit of (1) 50 round box per purchase/day for the past year or so,it has recently been lifted.

It seems to be boom or bust here . Some days you go into CT or Walmart , and they have lots of 22lr , go in a few days later , and there is none . No limits imposed so far that I have seen....

I have visited the BassPro store in Las Vegas numerous times since the Sandy Hook shooting and have yet to find any rim fire ammunition in stock. The sign there states "a limit of three boxes (not bricks) with only one box being a value pack "(more than 50). The .22 and other rim fire comes in and is gone the same day according to the sales people. Our store (P&D) has never completely run out of .22 ammo. A few times we were down to 2 choices but that soon caught up as new shipments came in. We have only limited .22 magnum ammo once for a short time to ensure available ammo for .22 mag guns we were selling. Other than that you can buy as much .22 LR you want (or any other ammo) and that seems to be the case with most of our independent competitors. From time to time WSS and Cabellas in Edmonton are out or low on .22 ammo. This seems to be more of an internal distribution issue than true shortages of product in Canada. Phil.

The Cabelas here had a 2 box limit on rimfire ammunition earlier this year around spring/early-summer. They have since removed the limit as their stock remains high as not many are buying at their inflated prices.
