Do many guys shoot tanfoglio pistols here in Canada? If so what do like about them? Have you been using for long and aside from heading all the way out to Halifax to look one over, where should one visit in the prairies to handle one?
 
I bought one last month, and I was very impressed by it.. nice clean adjustable trigger. (which can be improved more with a nice trigger job) the Sights are nice and bright (F.O.) the mag release is also reverseable.

The only snag I've had was with the mags. I had to tune every one of them (6). had some that were dropping out, and some that were kicking the round out early, and getting lodged against the top of the slide. (took 30 mins to fix all of them).

other then that it's a nice shooting pistol. The grip is a great fit for my hand (a bit smaller then most).

I decided to change out the wood grips on mine and make a pair of burl ones.

Thanks a million for the reply CKC123!! That's a great looking pistol. Are they single stacked 10rnds? You did an awesome job with those grip panels. You must have some smithing skills concerning the grips and mag issue. If you have anymore pics at different angles that would be great. Once again thanks! :)
 
it's a double stack frame (HC = High Capacity). I have a few skills, plus I like to tinker with my hands, so I'm not afraid to fix things myself. If you do get one let me know, and I can let you know what you need to do to the mags.

I'll take some more pics, once I can find my spot light (It's around here somewhere)

BTW: before the Tan, I was shooting an XD40 in production, and even at the firwst match, I saw a signifignat level of improvement in my scores. the F.O make a hugh improvment , and the lighter trigger, stopped me from pulling the rounds to the left. The mag reloads are a lot faster too.
 
BTW: I spoke to a firearms tech at the CFC. you can proactivly weld the laser cuts back together, to keep the mag from cracking..

I'm sending mine out next week.

No way USP. That is a single action ltd Tanfoglio. He meant to say he use to shoot production using XD. :D :D

Yup.. got it.. I used to shoot the XD, and while I did very good, I found I hit a wall with long trigger pull, and shots always going to the left.. once I switched to the shorted, lighter (And into standard class) things got way better..

I also noticed that I was focusing more on the front sight (since the tan had fiber) as I should have been. I was seeing a bit of muzzle lift with theXD, but it was hard to see all the time.. with the F.O. on the Tan, the muzzle lift is very noticable and a lot easier to call the shots.
 
I also have a Limited Custom. Got some pointers from ckc123 and it helped. I am going to put some more rounds through it and get ready for the next match. Should be fun. It is a great gun and a good buy. All ready to go Right tout of the box. Just a few mag adjustments.
 
Just bought a Tangfolio 1911 Custom, nice gun,with nice sights but it miss feeds and jams quit a bit for a brand new handgun.
 
you have to tweak the mags straight from the box.. (unfortunate but true)..

spring needs to be bent a bit, and the two "lips" which retain the cartride in the magazine needs to be bent inwards (if it's to wide it makes the cartridge angle up to high, ad feeds them into the top of the slide..)


my LC hates montana gold 180's as well.. (nose is wider and less taper then something like excel (which it loves)
 
The Tanfoglio has a ambi safety, and it's larger on the left side. the slide release is bigger.

The mag well is a bit larger, the mag release can be reversed.

the Tan has an adjustable trigger, better all metal mags (once you weld the cuts together)

The finish is way better then the CZ and the slide is a tighter fit..
