Is the modern (and still available?) Lin-Speed gun stock oil the same product as the old E. C. Bishop and Son Gunstock Oil?

Lin-Speed stock oil is not available off the shelf in Canada, at least it was not several years back as I had to bring it in from the fella that makes it in the USA. And by the time you get it in your hand after all the duties etc. etc. etc. they cost as much as little jars of Gold. A good product but you can similar results with polymerized Tung Oil from Lee Valley Tools. I can not answer your question if it is the same as the Bishop Oil.

I have good supply of the old E. C. Bishop and Son Gunstock Oil and will use it until I run out. And then I have some Lin-Speed and also a good supply of various brands of Tung oils waiting to be used. I was just wondering if anyone had any information about the old E. C. Bishop and Son Gunstock Oil. (Bishop was a famous gunstock company.) Apparently not. Thanks anyway.

Discovered German Schaftol. What a great product. And it is available at a local Canadian Tire store.
