Hi, I'm new here, and I was pointed in your direction with hopes of finding out about a shotgun that has been pass down through my family. This shotgun was brought from England that a relative won many years ago, and my side of the family has the gun and my great uncle has the cup that went with it, I have been trying to get the cup, and hopefully they'll part with it, because none of them are really interested in it. I have looked all over the net and have found very little information, hopefully someone here may know some history on the shotgun?

The following is printed on the gun:

Lincoln Jeffries The Light Weight 12 Bore

Winner of the gold Medal London 1870
Awarded First Prize Melbourne 1889

Winner of the Field 20 Guinea Prize
for Choke Bores London 1879

Pat 108
Number inside action 2636

Any information will greatly be appreciated, Thanks

Cheers, Dave

In the book English Gunmakers it show Lincoln Jerffries ( 1873 to 1900 ) book stops at 1900 and I have seen guns from Lincoln Jeffries form later then 1900 not sure when he quit

Thanks John, I'm looking for any information and I've found none, so with your info I'll start searching the net again. I will also try the shotgun section.

Thanks again, Dave
