It's cool, and thanks for the post but it is no secret as to why that design wasn't readily adopted.

You figure back then everything was ground breaking in firearms... Safety was sometimes an afterthought. Albeit Lindsay recognized the need to have the front round shoot first and had designed the interlock between the hammers. The oversight "might" have been the fact of a light load or an improper cartridge not sealing the bore between shots... LOL! Nothings perfect, even today.

I Just read your title, & was like DANG! I used to live very close to LINDSAY, & w0w, so crazy that 2 were shot with a rifled Musket!
