i ordered one of these

simple, affordable, light, and adds to the overall AR look/feel of the piece. ( i mean for my Ruger SR22.. not my mosin...) still looking for a cool front end piece for a threaded mosin nagant.

The linear brake will do nothing to reduce recoil. It like most of these doodads, is designed to separate you from you money while providing no real benefit. If you are that sensitive to recoil just get a slip on buttpad.

i liked the look.. they look neat.
but the mosin really does require a recoil reducing muzzle brake, a good one with proper vertical venting.... theyre designed to be shot with the bayonet mounted, harmonics and barrel lift. recoil isnt painful its annoying.. 8 to 12 inches of muzzle lift easily with a naked muzzle.

with my custom muzzle brake on, the recoil is negligible and the barrel lift is mostly eliminated.

I'll find another one like that....

We have been using the Witt Mosin muzzle break, they are the best one we have used yet for taming recoil on the Mosins, 60-70%! Find them HERE.

8-12"? I spend most of my range time shooting 7.62x54r and have never experienced anything like that. What position are you shooting from? The main objective of a brake is to help keep you on target but that advantage is pretty much negated by having to cycle the bolt.If you want to spend $100 putting a brake on knock yourself out but it seems kind of nuts to me.

barrel lift from the mosin with no brake is documented in sideways video on youtube with measurement lines... guarantee you see it :)
the recoil reduction is also heaven. had a wood original mosin next to my archangel with custom brake at the range yesterday and the difference in flash, recoil (felt), and barrel jump is astounding.

Literally jumps the bipod off the bench with the brake removed.

I like the look of those brakes but I hate the bolt on idea... i think its cheap and tacky... then again it uses the original front sight post notch... so might be alright... and save me threading the barrel......

I'll be open minded... look at all those top ports!
