I may have a quantity of linotype to sell in the near future. I want to charge a fair price. I've searched on google and it's hard to tell what a fair price is. Some prices are astronomical and I can't believe them to be fair. I don't want to give it away either of course. If some of you could give me your opinions/guidance I would be grateful. Some has been melted down into ingots but most is still in the original form with the letters on it.
Thanks,
pjs

The ingots are probably a bit harder to sell as people could be skeptical on the alloy.

Good idea from Yomomma to start higher and drop it a bit with every bump. It is worth what someone is willing to pay you,
not what someone on the internet might say.
Your location is also a big factor as shipping this type of stuff is not really economical.

Bertn and Yomomma, thanks for the helpful replys.
Yes, it would cost too much to ship. I think it would have to be pick up only. I'm one hour north of Guelph/Kitchener so not too far for many people.
Rotometals show $27 USD for 5 lbs. That is about $7.20 CAD per lb. So if I asked 4 or 5 bucks/pound, would that be fair? Forgive me, it's hard to discuss without sounding like I'm advertising but I'm really not.
Thanks,
pjs

Personal advice I think you should keep the lino in the shape they are(spacers, mono etc) that way people know what they buy plus is easier for calculating the alloy hardness by adding a spacer or two let's say. The price is whatever one is willing to pay. Pricewise is difficult to advise someone. You need the money then sell it cheap. You want to make a buck sell it big. The price is your decision.
