Linseed oil : Danger of spontaneous combustion, warning

Like Cleftwynd stated this issue is very old and very basic common sense and should not be surprising to any one except maybe for some city dweller in a condo in down town Toronto. Either spread your oily rags out or place them in a metal container with a tight lid. Personally I have always just spread them out to dry or burnt them in the wood stove.

If you really want to see something get hot, wet part of a 50 Ib. bag of chicken feed and place it in the chicken coup with all that nice dry straw. I had a bag get partially wet in the back of then truck and didn't realize it. Put it in the coup came out the next morning to water the girls and the bottom half of the bag of feed was to hot to touch. Another couple hrs I may have had 53 roasted chickens. Can't be to careful with oily rags or feed sacs.

I am 29 and had never heard of that before. They don't teach this in school anymore.
And the flame sign on the bottle, seriously, does anyone read the fine print when they see a flame sign on a bottle of oil? There's a flame sign on 90% of the products in my garage...
They should make it more obvious, because it's a real danger and alot of younger people might not be aware.
