Lion vs Tiger Deathmatch

I put my bets on the Tiger.....
They Hunt and Kill alone, Lions are more of a "Pack" animal and while the Males are Big and Tough they are for the most part all show, big manes and all roars:)

Tigers are just Plain Killing Machines:rockOn:

I said the tiger too. Far more agile and swift(Although I thought the tiger would be the larger, expecting a Siberian tiger for such a matchup). It's hard to say if the lion died though. With the lion's main being so large, it does protect him to some degree.

Male lions are no pushover though. While female lions cringe when Hyenas are around and occassionally get killed by them, the male lion makes lunch meat out of any Hyenas that dare come near. The male's role is primarily to provide protection to the pack..and to procreate of course! Nice job...sounds like a role a lot of us slobs! Hehehehe.

I personally think that is rather undignified. Either one of those cats would of been wonderful to hunt. When I was planning for Africa I wanted to have a lion on my licence, at least until I saw the price!

We saw more than a dozen lions, maybe two dozen. There are 5 in this pic, I can only see 4, but I bet the gazelles knew there were 5. If you can't find the 4th one, look to the right of the lioness in front and below the chin of the one to the right, she is in profile in the grass.

Of those only two were trophy material, one in the Serengeti and the other was in the Ngorongoro Conservancy, neither of which is open to hunting.

These animals redefine "savage". They are terrible to their prey and to each other. Check out the wounds on the lionesses.

I felt the blood rush to my face wiatching that. I don't like to watch animals fighting and that sickened me as much as that American Jew getting his head cut off in Iraq. It sickend me for a week every time I thought of it. Pictures like that ought not to be put on the news for the titilation of the viewers and the ratings of the news company.

I'm not sure what to say. I have always thought I would object to such a thing. Sadly, I have to admit I was facinated enough to watch the movie. Can't believe I watched the clip of a lion eating a tourist, while his wife and children were trapped in their vehicle, too.

I can remember wondering, back when they used to keep lion and tiger cubs together at the West Edmonton Mall, what the outcome of such an encounter would be. I don't think the movie answers that. I don't think that tiger had any more than a hold of of some mane and/or ear in the final frame. It seems to me the fight probably continued for a while longer.
